The aim of the centre is to provide a hub for environmental education, encouraging more outdoor based and technology focused learning. We hope to achieve this through enhancing the teaching and learning experiences across the curriculum. We have developed a range of cross-curricular resources for all key-stages relating to the local and global environment.

The ELC is a suitable base for groups to use for fieldwork, technology focused lessons and for use of the woodland, pond and wildlife garden. The building is equipped with a range of technology for use in both curricular and extra-curricular activities. This includes laptops, data projection, hand-held devices, data-recording equipment, video editing software and a full range of fieldwork equipment.
